Monica’s Bio
As a native Houstonian, Monica is proud to advocate for individuals and families in the city she calls home. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with minors in Business Administration and French. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston, where she was recognized with the Dean’s Merit Scholarship each year and served as an active member of the Hispanic Law Students Association.
Monica was admitted to the Texas Bar in October 2024 and joined Shellist Law Firm with a strong foundation in litigation and client advocacy. Prior to representing injured individuals, Monica worked as an insurance defense attorney—an experience that gives her unique insight into the tactics and priorities of the opposition. She now uses that knowledge to anticipate defense strategies, protect her clients’ rights, and pursue maximum compensation for those harmed by the negligence of others.
Monica handles both personal injury and criminal defense matters with diligence, clarity, and compassion. She prides herself on keeping clients informed, empowered, and confident throughout the legal process. Whether negotiating with insurers or fighting in the courtroom, Monica is committed to delivering skilled, client-centered representation.
Outside of her practice, Monica enjoys discovering new travel destinations, sampling Houston’s vibrant food scene, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Her hometown pride, sharp legal mind, and unwavering dedication make her a vital member of the Shellist Law Firm.
